"The Tighty Whitey Affair"

This is a historical photo set, recorded the night of the Tighty Whitey Affair. We were performing at a period re-enactment of the Battle of Culloden between the Scotts and the British when Bonnie Prince Charlie was defeated. This event was held at Historic Fort Erie. As such, we were required to dress in period as we entertained Prince Charlie and all of the other re-enactors at their evening ceilidh (party).

Some of us wear kilts, some of us don't.. We were told NOT to go regimental (it was too cold for that) and to be sure NOT to wear WHITE UNDERWEAR. Which - some of us took seriously, that is all except the French guy in the band who plays the button box with his legs spread. This all came to an obvious display as we began to perform and all the ladies in the audience began to giggle and point!

In spite of the sudden "appearance" by Joffre's Tighty Whiteys, we were invited back to the encampment for a great evening of music and merriment. Great fun, many new friends and a wonderful time.

And thus is how the song "Tighty Whitey Man" was born...
